About The University:

Indian Institute of Technologies are centrally funded, autonomous institutes encouraging Academic Excellence. There exist 23 IITs and IIT Bhilai is one among these that is established in the state of Chhattisgarh by the Ministry of Human Resource and Development in the year 2016. The Institute offers Bachelor of Technology (B.Tech), Master of Technology (M.Tech), Master of Science (MSc) and Doctoral programs (PhD) in various departments.

The transit campus is located at Government Engineering College (GEC) Raipur. The permanent campus of IIT Bhilai is located in Kutelabhata village, Bhilai, District Durg. The campus is well connected through major modes of transport as it is 5 km from the Great Eastern Highway, 6 km from Durg junction railway station (the most prominent and important station in Howrah–Nagpur–Mumbai line) and 54 km from Swami Vivekananda Airport, Mana, Raipur.

The permanent campus of IIT Bhilai is planned to be a complete self- sustaining residential campus and will be developed in phase manner. Comprising three zones, i.e., Academic zone, Hostel zone and Residential zone, the campus has various green-building features incorporated and integrated within the design itself. The architectural design is optimized as per local climate and sun-path analysis. Designed as pedestrian friendly walk-able and cycle-able campus by limiting the extent of motorized connections on periphery.
